First Debut of 2012

Last Fall my Other Half planted some snow drops around the Lot. They were given to him as a birthday present by Miss A after he pointed them out in her cottage-style garden. Now they are popping up all over the backyard. What delicate, adorable little flowers.

Is This a Trick?

This is a quick update to make another note about this screwy winter we are having this season. Two warnings of severe winter weather produced nothing but rain this past week. That was especially disappointing because I was really hoping for some Thundersnow. Tuesday we had a high of 33 degrees. Wednesday it shot up to 54 degrees. Saturday is forecasted to have snow, while next Wednesday we’ll be in the 50s again.

Is winter over? Today, I did hear my first Canada Goose returning to the park down the street. The goldfinches are looking a bit scruffy. The juncos are passing through as they do in the Fall. But then I also had snow on my daffodils last year, and that was in April.
